11 arrests in Rochdale

10 06 2012

ImageAccording to the mainstream press (specifically the BBC) there were 11 arrests yesterday in Rochdale.

About 400 EDL supporters were at the demo, which followed the conviction of a group of men of Pakistani and Afghan origin for child-grooming offences.  The EDL have been doing all that they can to capitalize on this.

There was a heavy police presence with some 500 officers on duty.

EDL-Casuals clashing over Brighton and general fail

10 06 2012

EDL-Casuals clashing over Brighton and general fail

The deepening rift between the arseholes of the EDL and the cunts of the Casuals looks set to widen after key figures on both sides line up to dish the dirt on each other as Yaxley gets billed for Marsh gas’ second fuck up in Brighton

After the Casuals had their arses handed to them for a second time in Brighton it would appear that the EDL are less than happy with Joe “The Mouth” Marsh especially as the diminutive dickhead from Luton has been handed a bill by the police for the operation to save Marshy’s worthless arse from anti-fascists and the ordinary people of Brighton who quite rightly objected to a load of lager swilling idiots befouling their town
The unexpected bill has led to condemnation from official EDL sources of Marshy as a coward who leaves demo’s he has organised as early as 2pm via the safest backdoor of a pub that he can find leaving the rest of his lads to cover for him in the face of a large group of hostile anarchists intent on christening the dodgy div’s trainers.
It would appear that the bollock-brain from Barry is out of favour with the rest of the EDL after running from his own demo, leaving other fascists to face the music and now expecting Uncle Tommy to pay for his mistakes from his coke fund.
Accusations and counter accusations abound from all sides heated all the more after a disastrous day for the far right as both the BNP demo and the EDL in Rochdale fail to make a dent in the nation’s conscience with only approx 35 turning up to the BNP do and less than 500 at the EDL’s equally damp squib

EDL in Hebden Bridge

10 06 2012

EDL in Hebden Bridge

from IMC UK, see http://indymedia.org.uk/en/2012/06/496927.html?c=on#comments

Yesterday around 30 EDL descended on Hebden Bridge after the Rochdale demo. They

draped their banners outside the shoulder of mutton pub and began to chant anti Islamic abuse.

Some local anti fascists attempted to confront the group but they were threatened by EDL supporters. The police had no control over the situation and were simply a laughing stock. One of the EDL began arguing with a local anti fascist when the EDL supporter punched the anti fascist in the face. The fascist friendly police put the thug in the back of the van and gave him a caution and then allowed him to walk off.

The EDL displayed placards against Islam, even though there are no muslims in Hebden Bridge, this entire depressing fiasco was clearly an attack on anti fascists and nothing to do with radical islam. As we walked past the EDL we were verbally abused and called “traitors” eventually the group left and went back to the station, the thugs that carried out the attack were from Halifax and leeds.

Fascists Get Fucked in Brighton….Again

4 06 2012

Here’s a couple of links & reposts from the action in Brighton this weekend. Another good day for the Brighton Aniti-Fascists, but in all honesty the biggest mob in town on the day was the police, thousands of them!! – It’s worth noting that a couple of Casuals were arrested for drugs almost as soon as they got off the trains – Maybe they were so pathetic today as they didn’t have the chemical confidence they usually seem to rely upon.

count the baldies – about 30 scumbags are taken to the train station by police.

Couple of quality quotes from the day:

‘If there were no police, there would be no fascists, fact!’  – a member of the public who was asking the police to kindly ‘Piss off so we can get rid of the bastards.’

‘I don’t know why the police don’t just let us sort it out, they (the fascists) would never dare show their faces in Brighton again,’ – Anti-Fascist campaigner.

‘Go on kids, See em off!’ – an elderly lady watching from the railings outside Brighton train station as around a gang of 100 had just legged it down the road in hot pursuit of the 30 fascists being taken to the train station by police.

Fash & Chips

(repost from Schnews)

Casuals United, the football hooligan wing of the EDL, made complete tits of themselves in Brighton today (2nd). In response to their humiliation at March for England the fash thought it would be a good idea to come back in even smaller numbers to have a go at the “rabid hordes of commie UAF gays” that passes for the population of Brighton.

Far right websites, blogs and Facebook pages are already attempting to claim that antifa either a) didn’t turn up, b) ran away, and/or c) attacked patriots unprovoked. In reality the knuckle draggers managed to skulk about in a few pubs (including Belushis, The Saint James & The Amsterdam) while around 100 antifascists stewarded the UK Uncut demo and Palestine Solidarity stall near Churchill Sq. Once the stall had packed up around 3pm the antifascists mobbed up and headed towards Old Steine to confront the racists.

Police halted the majority of the march halfway down North St, meaning only around 30 made it to the bottom of St James Street, where small groups of fash were skulking around making homophobic remarks. A spirited fistfight broke out, though the police waded in before a decisive outcome was reached.

The cops then rounded up most of the EDL and marched them to the train station, with antifascists haranguing them all the way. Many of them then left town with a few others heading back into town to find a pub to defend from Sharia Law.

Antifascists then regrouped for a well earned pint, while others headed to Hollingbury police station to pick up arrested comrades. So far at least 5 antifascists and 5 fascists have been nicked today.

A more complete & concise roundup of the day’s events will be posted in the near future.

Up the punks!!

Another report on Indymedia here: http://www.indymedia.co.uk/en/2012/06/496672.html?c=on

Also less amusing report at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-18308450

And a fairly inaccurate one from the local rag: http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/9742009.18_arrested_during_protests_in_Brighton/

As reported in an earlier post, anyone who wants a laugh (or a cry) should look at the casuals united blog. The blatant bullshit they come out with shows their weakness – The Anti Fascist Network has a policy of not exaggerating, and only reporting the truth, so that we may learn from our mistakes. Here’s a quote from an e-mail from an antifascist doing prisoner support:

Just thought i’d share a little story from yesterday,
After 5 fash & 5 anti fash were arrested a group from Brighton Anti Fascists went up to
the holding cells in a mini bus and 2 cars, i think the uaf had a car there
too.

To pass the time in the van we were talking about the day and for a laugh
thought we’d have a look at how the casuals united blog was spinning the day,
and how they would again try to claim victory when there was none

Amazingly their blog stated that they had 30 people outside the cells for
prisoner support!?!?!  One of the funniest things to read when you are actually there with
absolutley no one one else around (its in the middle of no where).

Every one pissed themselves & Jokes were made that we were surrounded on all sides by invisible fascists!

The first fascist to get released new the score and came out & quickly paced off the
other way, maybe the second one had been expecting his mates to care about him,
he headed straight for the van, and as we piled out he shat himself and bolted to
an awaiting taxi.

So either:

A) the fascists did thier prisoner support at the wrong station,
B) they didnt give a fuck about thier mates and went to the pub or,
C) they went home to dream up stories to post on the blog.

Even if they were at the wrong station, i doubt they had 30 as the maximum
number we counted at the hight of thier numbers was 40.

Its good to see them having to resort to such bollox!

Well done all those who went!!

So in summary of the situation in Brighton. The MFE went tits up for the ‘patriots’ on St Georges Day and The hardcore fascists of Casuals United and EDL couldn’t carry out their threats of revenge, and were made to look like the weak extremist group they are. If the Fascists are stubborn enough to want a third crack at the town I guess all they have left to do is a National EDL Demo….are they really that stupid??

****PLEASE NOTE THE RUNNING OF THIS BLOG IS TO BE PASSED TO ANOTHER GROUP SOMETIME NEXT WEEK!!****

INFIDELS OF BRITAIN: A MANIFESTO

Casual Racism In Brighton

27 05 2012

Anyone who wants to see how completely fucking desperate the far right have got in the UK should check out the Casuals United blog. From what we can tell it relies solely on misinformation and lies…It goes to show that if you repeat a lie enough times you’ll start to believe it yourself.

Check out their site and you’ll notice they’ve got a bit hot under the collar lately about anything happening in Brighton, they really hate the town, the people in it, and the Green party elected representatives. This is an obvious reaction after they humiliated themselves with MFE on St Georges day.

Rather than admit that fascists will never be tolerated in a town like Brighton, they quickly set about lying that ‘Communists had planned to attack women and children’ on the march, and therefore they are trying to get people together for a return visit to the town on the 2nd June.

At the risk of stating the obvious, communists did not plan to attack women and children. Here’s some proof, it’s a video from the start of the March – 11 seconds in the first bottles thrown are clearly come from the nationalist demo.

We believe that it’s probably true that a young girl was hit when a bottle was returned to the fascists, it’s unfortunate but it’s hardly like anyone picks a target as they lob a bottle across a street. But really, what the fuck are you doing taking your kid to a demo where you start a bottle fight you can’t win?

So the Casuals & some MFE and EDL are planning to return to Brighton next Saturday to dish out some revenge. It remains to be seen how many lowlife scum will believe the bullshit and come out to play but surely they can’t do any worse than last time can they?

Some people just never learn – See you Saturday!

40 EDL knuckledraggers in Redditch flop

27 05 2012

Repost from – 3cafa

“DESPITE some early unrest and a number of arrests the EDL march passed off largely peacefully. Around 40 EDL supporters gathered for an assembly at the bandstand and about 200 counter demonstrators gathered in Easemore Road.

By the time the assemblies had dispersed there had been only three arrests – one for a breach of the peace and two on suspicion of assault. They were all men and believed to have been attached to the counter EDL demonstration. All three were taken to a police station in Worcestershire.

After listening to speeches at the bandstand, EDL supporters were escorted by police back to the railway station where they had arrived earlier. Counter demonstrators then held a short gathering at the bandstand before dispersing.

Superintendent Adrian Pass of West Mercia Police said: “There were very few problems during the build-up to and during the assemblies and there have been no reports of damage to property. “The success of the operation is due to a number of factors, not least the support from partner agencies who helped in preparing the town for  today’s event and the fantastic co-operation we have had from the public.

“A significant number of officers and staff were involved in policing the protest and we would like to pay tribute to the professionalism of our colleagues from British Transport Police and neighbouring forces who were involved.

We are grateful for their support.” Superintendent Pass said that in the main supporters of both rallies had been good natured and officers had encountered very few problems. He said: “I realise that this has been a challenging time for everybody but the fact that the demonstrations have passed off largely without incident vindicates the decisions taken by us and our partners while planning our operation.

“What arrests there have been have followed isolated incidents and our officers on the ground responded to these and dealt with them quickly and robustly. “This was a great effort by the whole community and it is a tribute to all those involved that the town is calm and everything is returning to normal so quickly.””

Update – There are now plans to set-up a Redditch Against Fascism group according to this article in The Redditch Standard.

North East England – A BNP Free Zone

22 05 2012

Re-post from TWAFA

On one dismal evening in early May 2006, the BNP won 12 seats on Barking and Dagenham Council in East London.

Thankfully they lost all the seats again on the evening of 1st May 2010, when the decline of the BNP across the country really started to become apparent. The BNP were also the official opposition in Stoke for a year, while they also won a number of seats in Northern towns and cities, including Burnley, Keighley and Bradford. But in North-east England…nothing.  The BNP never made a breakthrough and never won even a single council seat across the whole region.

It certainly wasn’t for lack of trying.  One year in the early 2000s, they stood more candidates in the North-east than in any other region in the country, including a full-slate in Sunderland. Whilst it they did come close to winning a seat on the council, on one occasion coming within 53 votes of winning a seat, the people of the North-east stood firm and never sullied their reputation for rejecting fascism.

This is not the first time the north east has rejected fascism. In the 1930’s Oswald Mosley tried to make Newcastle what he called a ‘stromcentre’ of fascist operations.  Some hope.  Instead he and his Blackshirt thugs were chased out of the city.  They met with similar failure in North and South Shields.  Far from becoming a ‘stormcentre’ of fascism, the North-east of England in the 1930’s and 1940’s acquired a reputation for solid anti-fascism. Dockers refused to unload arms for Franco’s fascist forces in Spain, whilst North-east people welcomed Basque refugee children from the same conflict with open arms.

In the 1940’s, it was the Durham Light Infantry who liberated the hell-hole of Belsen, whilst it was a hawk-eyed Newcastle soldier by the name of Jimmy Evans who spotted Lord Haw Haw, a Nazi propagandist and had him arrested at the war’s end. These were real patriots, who understood that the real Britain stands for tolerance, solidarity and friendship – the very opposite of the values of the BNP, EDL and fellow travellers..

The 1930’s and 1940’s were hard times of course. A worldwide recession was followed by a bitter conflict with the facists of Nazi Germany, Mussolini’s Italy and Tojo’s Japan. Many British soldiers suffered in German and Japanese prisoner of war camps, however, when leading north-east BNP member Adam Walker visited Japan in August 2010 to attend a far-right conference, he paid his respects at Yasukuni, a Shinto shrine in the capital that honours Japan’s war dead, including 14 class-A war criminals, men who had committed war crimes against Allied troops.  This is no surprise – you don’t have to scratch far below the surface of many BNP members to find their true colours as supporters of fascism and the denial of basic human rights. Walker was accompanied by holocaust denier Jean-Marie Le Pen.

The North-east anti-fascism of the 1930’s holds particular relevance to today.  They were terribly hard times, when unemployment reached 70% in Jarrow, 200 of whose men felt compelled to march all he way to London to ask for work.  It would perhaps have been easy for the people of North-east England to have gone down the disastrous road that so many in Germany did and found scapegoats for all their troubles. They didn’t.  Indeed the 1930’s was also the deacde when the Yemenis became accepted as a community in South Shields.  They were to become a model of integration admired across Britain as their assimilation into North-east life was as successful as that of the Irish had been 70 or 80 years earlier.

We must now today show the same resolve as our forebears did.  We are faced with another huge global economic crisis, just as they were in the 1930’s.  We must remember the lessons from 80 years ago and show the same spirit of solidarity between all people to get us through. If we do then we can get through it and become stronger as a region. If we don’t then the problems caused by the credit crunch and accompanying economic downturn which are already besetting us will only mulitply.  Things are going to be hard enough as it is, without inter-communal strife.

As a region we have shown recently that we can reject fascism in the guise of the odious BNP.  They are now in seemingly terminal decline.  It is sadly very possible that fascist ideas will again be presented to the North-east people as solutions to our problems, either by the thugs of the English Defence League, or some other grouping on the far-right.  We must all hope and trust that the people of North-east England can remember their heritage as fair-minded, decent people who will continue to reject the ethos of bullying and hatred presented to them by the far-right.
